Customer: Centre National d’Etudes Spatiales (CNES)

Programme: DTQTIS

Supply Chain: CNES > CS Group SPACE

Context

CS Group responsabilities for Absolute radiometric calibration - Studies for improving SADE-MUSCLE tools are as follows:

  • Study, development

Main Picture

The features are as follows:

  • Improved hyperspectral interpolation on desert sites :
  • Analysis of available hyperspectra (GOME-2, ONERA, ECOSTRESS, PICSAND)
  • Generation of reference hyperspectra of desert sites
  • Application to calibration (MSI, OLCI, SLSTR) TOA spectral integration for desert calibration :
  • Adaptation of MUSCLE tools/Implementation of the algorithm
  • BOA/TOA integration comparison (SPOT-6 and SLSTR calibrations) Rayleigh/Glitter calibration :
  • Morel&Gentili BRDF correction development (MUSCLE-NEO integration in progress)
  • Study on improving the spectral interpolation of reflectances CLIMZOO

Project implementation

The project objectives are as follows:

  • Improving surface reflectance modeling of desert calibration sites
  • Replace Spline interpolation made from multi-spectral measurements by interpolation from a hyperspectrum
  • Replace the integration of the surface reflectance with the integration of the simulated signal at the top of the atmosphere

The processes for carrying out the project are:

  • Study, tests, regular progress meetings

Technical characteristics

The solution key points are as follows:
